Earth Day was celebrated worldwide on Saturday, 22nd April, and to mark the occasion, Birmingham County FA launched a new sustainability initiative. The initiative aims to promote more sustainable food and drink packaging across football clubs in the West Midlands.

Save Today, Play Tomorrow
The programme called ‘Save Today, Play Tomorrow,’ has won awards for its innovative approach to sustainability in football. We are proud to announce we have now partnered with Birmingham County FA to offer clubs in the region an exclusive opportunity to switch to our environmentally friendly range of cups, burger boxes, and other packaging at a 10% discount.

How Football Clubs Can Make A Difference
Whether you're a grassroots club or a professional team, we're inviting clubs of all sizes to join our initiative. At BioPak, we've been proud to provide sustainable packaging solutions to the Forest Green Rovers, who are true champions of sustainability both on and off the pitch. We're excited to extend this opportunity to clubs everywhere so that together we can make a positive impact on the environment.
“We know that football has a global reach and fanbase, so it’s important for us at a regional level to lead responsibly on how to enjoy the beautiful game in a way that isn’t so costly for the planet. By collaborating with BioPak, we are helping football clubs by offering them a more sustainable alternative to how they package consumable items that will lessen their environmental footprint and become a more affordable way for them to introduce products which are friendlier to our planet.”
- Richard Lindsay, Sustainability and Insights Manager at the Birmingham County FA

Leanne Osborne, Managing Director of BioPak UK, added:
“We’re proud to be working together with the Birmingham County FA to make our nation’s favourite sport greener, and offer more affordable prices on packaging that is much friendlier for the planet than plastic alternatives. We’ve provided a wide range of packaging to high profile clubs in the past and we look forward to rolling this initiative out more widely.”
